After a massive leak and a batch of new posters, the first official teaser trailer for the Five Nights At Freddy's movie has been released, giving us our first look at the movie in action.

First shared by Blumhouse Productions founder Jason Blum, the trailer opens up as an eighties-esque commercial for Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria before it transitions into the clips from the actual movie. We see what is presumably a new security guard enter Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria for the first time, who explores the building and switches on the electrics for the first time. We then see the same man strapped to a chair and faced with a murderous animatronic, so it's safe to say he either isn't the main character, or somehow escapes from a pretty tricky situation.

We don't get much apart from that besides a few quick scenes from the movie with a very menacing laugh over the top, but we do see the child who appeared in the movie's first screenshot who appears to have a key role to play. We also very briefly see the character that Scream actor Matthew Lillard will be playing, who possibly appears to be some kind of doctor or psychiatrist. No sign of Markiplier though, who is strongly rumored to be involved in the film in some capacity.

As for the animatronics, the only one heavily featured in the trailer is Freddy Fazbear, which is seen hunting down a couple of characters throughout. We also see a very brief glimpse of Bonnie as the security guard draws back a curtain, but it remains motionless. Chica and Foxy will both definitely pop up at some point during the movie though, as a batch of posters that were released an hour before the movie trailer dropped confirmed as much. Nightmare Cupcake is also included, which was confirmed by the film crew as well as the posters.

Given that this is a teaser trailer, it's safe to assume that we'll get a much meatier trailer at some point in the near future. The Five Night's at Freddy's movie will premiere in theatres and stream on Peacock on October 27, so there's plenty of time for Blumhouse to give us a couple more trailers possibly showing off Chica and Foxy as well as some more in depth story details. At the very least, it confirms that the movie doesn't seem to be a simple retelling of a security guard trapped in a pizzeria with creepy animatronics, so it'll be interesting to see what Blumhouse and director Emma Tammi is cooking.
