Your Twitch Accounts Are Safe

Twitch’s massive hack earlier this month had all of us pretty nervous. Viewers, because our accounts were potentially compromised, and content creators because of all the information that could have been stolen. The streaming giant did earlier say that there was no indication of anyone's login credentials having been exposed, but it has now released a more detailed statement.

"Twitch passwords have not been exposed. We are also confident that systems that store Twitch login credentials, which are hashed with bcrypt, were not accessed, nor were full credit card numbers or ACH / bank information," the company wrote in a recent blog update. "The exposed data primarily contained documents from Twitch’s source code repository, as well as a subset of creator payout data."

xQc Puts On His Conspiracy Headset

Getting hacked isn't the only thing Twitch has had to worry about recently. YouTube has been slowly but surely encroaching upon its turf by hijacking some of its biggest content creators. Twitch surely has plans on how to combat YouTube's blitz, and xQc theorizes that the sudden wave of lifted bans has something to do with it.

Streamers like Velvet_7 and Axium, who were banned indefinitely, have recently been unbanned. This has led to xQc suggesting that reviving these popular streamers is Twitch's way of trying to retain the big names that are still on the platform. "YouTube is buying out more streamers to go to their platform, and it seems like Twitch is firing back by unbanning previously banned streamers,” he said during one of his recent streams.

Team Spirit Takes The International

Team Spirit has been crowned champions of Dota 2 The International 2021. The final match against PSG.LGD was an absolute classic. TSpirit won the first two games pretty convincingly, but PSG.LGD made a late surge to win the third one, preventing a short match. TSpirit was absolutely decimated in the fourth game, with a kill ratio of 23:2, leaving it all for the final and deciding game.

The final game was a close one, but TSpirit's 29 kills as opposed to PSG.LGD's 12, earned them the title.
