The Devil - Hanako's Ending

Requirements

Associated Quests

  • Ask Hanako Arasaka for help
  • Take the omega-blockers
  • Either sign contract to have V's engram saved for Secure Your Soul, or refuse to sign

  • "Last Caress"
  • "Totalimmortal"
  • "Where is My Mind?"

For the first ending, we'll cover what happens if you side with the corps of Cyberpunk 2077 by working with Hanako.

Once you reach the point of no return, you'll meet with Hanako at Embers. Afterward, you'll find yourself in Vic's clinic and in a bad way, and then you'll be told to head to the roof. Once there, you have a selection of choices to make.

To head down Hanako's path, you need to put your trust in Arasaka to remove the biochip. This is one of two endings that are unlocked by default. Hanako's path could be considered the "bad" ending, but it's worth seeing due to how awfully bleak it is.

When you've finished the mission, you'll get a different epilogue depending on whether you saved Takemura.

  • If you saved Takemura in "Search and Destroy", you'll be visited by him.
  • If you failed to save Takemura in "Search and Destroy", you'll be visited by Anders Hellman.

There's also a choice to make during the epilogue:

  • If you sign the contract, V joins the Secure Your Soul program.
  • If you refuse to sign the contract, V heads back to Earth to spend their final moments with their loved ones.

The Star - Panam's Ending

Requirements

Associated Quests

  • Finish Panam's Side Jobs including "Queen of the Highway"
  • Ask Panam for help
  • Take the omega-blockers

  • "We Gotta Live Together"
  • "Forward to Death"
  • "Belly of the Beast"
  • "Changes"
  • "All Along the Watchtower"

Panam's path isn't available by default. To unlock this as an option, you have to first complete all Panam's missions, including the Side Job "Queen of the Highway". If you've ticked all the boxes, you'll have to option to call in the Aldecaldos when you make your fateful choice on the rooftop after Cyberpunk 2077's point of no return.

If you choose this option, you get to storm Arasaka along with the Nomads and you get to play around in a massive tank. There are two possible epilogues for Panam's path:

  • If you decide to cross the bridge with Alt, Johnny inherits V's body and leaves Night City, leading to the Temperance ending.
  • If you enter the Well, V leaves Night City with Panam and the Nomads while Johnny stays behind with Alt.

The Sun - Rogue's Ending

Cyberpunk 2077 rogue during blistering love

Requirements

Associated Quests

  • Finish Rogue's Side Jobs including "Blistering Love"
  • Ask Rogue for help
  • Take the pseudoendotrizine

  • "For Whom the Bell Tolls"
  • "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
  • "Changes"
  • "Path of Glory"

To unlock Rogue's path, you need to complete all of Johnny's side missions with Rogue, including Side Job "Blistering Love". Once you've done all of those, an option to assault Arasaka Tower with Rogue will pop up on the rooftop. Go with her to end Arasaka's reign once and for all.

Like the other endings, the epilogue is slightly different depending on your final choice after the mission.

  • If you enter the Well, Johnny stays in cyberspace and V becomes a legend in Night City.
  • If you cross the Bridge, Johnny inherits V’s body and leaves Night City behind, leading to the Temperance ending.

Temperance - Johnny's Ending

Requirements

Associated Quests

  • Unlock either Rogue's or Panam's paths by completing their Side Jobs
  • Ask either Rogue or Panam for help
  • Inside Mikoshi, allow Johnny to keep V's body

  • "Changes"
  • "New Dawn Fades"

Temperance is a slight alteration to The Sun and The Star's endings. Rather than ride off into the sunset with the Aldecaldos or become the new owner of The Afterlife, V gives Johnny Silverhand a second chance at life.

The critical decision happens during the "Changes" job. Alt has managed to separate Johnny and V's engrams, but the damage to V's body is too severe. She gives V a choice; return to their body with six months to live, or let Johnny keep it and keep going.

If Johnny keeps V's body, the next mission is "New Dawn Fades" with Johnny getting onto a bus and leaving Night City for good.

Path of Least Resistance

To trigger this ending, you have to select one of the other ending dialogue options when you're on the rooftop. When you're asked if you are sure, you say you need to reconsider. After that, select "Could also just put all this to rest," and then the option that throws the pills away.

A cutscene will play out where V explains the only way to prevent further bloodshed before the biochip renders them both insane is to end it all here and now.

If you choose this ending, your story ends right here on the rooftop. There's no final mission, and there's also no epilogue to enjoy. If Hanako's path is considered the "bad" ending, let's call this the "nuclear" ending.

Secret Ending - Don’t Fear the Reaper

If you want to unlock Cyberpunk 2077's secret ending, you have to do a bit of ass-kissing with Johnny throughout the game. You'll need to do both his and Rogue's side quests ("Tapeworm," "Chippin' In," and "Blistering Love") for this option to become available.

During the "Chippin' In" quest, Johnny will wax philosophical with V in an oilfield. During this conversation, select these three options when they come up:

  • "Nah, fucked that up too."
  • "What do you want from me?"
  • "Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last."

Every other choice doesn't matter. After choosing the last one, you'll notice Johnny's affinity goes up to 40 percent. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it's apparently enough to convince Johnny to storm Arasaka Tower without any backup whatsoever.

Later during the rooftop scene where you're deciding who to call for help, say, "Think you and Rogue should go." Johnny will ask if you're sure, and after that, don't say anything. Just wait for five minutes, after which Johnny will offer another solution.

Offer to hear him out, and you can do a solo run on Arasaka with Johnny in control. Since Rogue isn't with you this time, it means she survives.

This is Cyberpunk 2077’s most challenging level. If you die during this mission, the game ends and the credits roll.

Completing Cyberpunk 2077's secret ending gives you the same epilogue you get from choosing to enter the Well during Rogue’s Path - Johnny remains in cyberspace and V becomes a Night City legend.
