Cal Kestis has a brand-new grizzled look in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, that sees him ditching the scrapper outfit and ponchos for a beard and a jacket that Han Solo would be proud of. If you miss the days when Cal was a walking fashion disaster, you're in luck, as Jedi: Survivor gives you the chance to reunite Cal with his most infamous item of clothing.

That's right, just like many of you hoped, Cal's poncho is back in action. This time around, however, it's not a default item of clothing and is something you're going to have to actively seek out. Not only will you have to find the poncho, you'll also have to go up against an incredibly tough boss that acts as a fun throwback to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Updated May 19, 2023: We've updated this guide to help clarify a few elements of the battle. We've provided a link to the Fractured History Force Tear, just in case you were looking for the other Oggdo Bogdo battle.

How To Find The Poncho In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The first thing you're going to need to do is reach the planet Koboh, which is the second location you'll visit in Jedi: Survivor and unarguably the biggest. After getting to the Southern Ridge part of the map and seeing a brief cutscene where Cal looks over at the valley, you'll be given free-reign of the planet and be able to go about exploring, finding collectibles, and sharpening your Jedi skills.

Fort Kah'Lin in Jedi: Survivor.

In the upper right corner of the map, which we've highlighted above, you'll find an area called Fort Kah'Lin, which is stuffed to the gills with B1 and B2 Battle Droids, along with some other tough enemies.

There are several collectibles to find in the area, but what you're going to want to do when you get here is head to the centre of the fort and look for the tower to grapple to, pictured above. Once you've done that, you can follow the open doors and enemies to a platform that has a ton of B1 battle droids.

Don't run up to them just yet, and don't stand on the platform in the middle of the cliff, as it's a trap.

Instead, quickly dispatch the droids while losing as little health as possible and then stand on the platform when you're ready to face a real challenge.

As we said above, that platform is actually a trap door and will drop you down to a small room that houses the Spawn of Oggdo Bogdo, a clear reference to the same boss in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as Oggdo's spawn is just as tough as the original, with a similarly small arena to fight him in. If you die, you'll also have to trek from the middle of the fort again, meaning you'll have to go up against the army of B1 battle droids whenever you die.

How To Defeat The Spawn Of Oggdo Bogdo In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Luckily, I'm here to help with that.

For starters, I'd recommend ensuring you have at least one extra Stim canister before going into this fight.

The easiest one to get on Koboh can be found in Doma's Outpost Commodities. All you need to do is buy the Mysterious Keycode for ten Priorite Shards and then unlock the door to get a Stim.

Next, you're going to want to purposefully die at least once against Oggdo Bogdo's spawn. Doing so will drop your EXP in the arena to collect, which also instantly refills your health and Force, essentially giving you another Stim. Don't pick up the dropped EXP until you need it, though, as it's easy to instinctively collect it as you drop into the arena.

Onto Oggdo Bogdo's moveset, which will seem instantly familiar to anyone who fought his dad in Jedi: Fallen Order. Like his dad, Oggdo is a bit of a tank too, so you'll need to make sure that you're getting as many hits in as possible when you get a chance. For his standard moves, there are really only a couple you need to look out for.

Bite

A basic bite attack that Oggdo's spawn usually does twice in a row. This can, and should, be parried to break down his deflection meter. You should aim to hit him after two bites, as long as he's not gearing up to do an unblockable attack.

Acid Spew

Oggdo will rear on its back legs and throw acid around the arena that can deal some heavy damage. The best course of action here is to jump away and then double-jump toward Oggdo, attacking in mid-air when you can. There's a decent amount of time after the acid comes out that you can get some damage in.

Hey, he only has two basic attacks, this should be a cinch, right? No, actually, as Oggdo actually has five unblockable attacks that can cause major damage and sometimes kill you in one hit.

These are the ones you'll need to learn to make use of, as avoiding them will give you the best chance to counterattack. Oggdo will glow red when he's about to do one of these, but you'll need to learn the cues for what he's about to do.

Heavy Bite

Oggdo will glow red with his mouth open and then quickly bite at Cal, usually taking off more than half his health. The best thing to do here is dodge to the side and then quickly get some damage in as soon as the coast is clear.

Charge

This is by far Oggdo's most dangerous move. If Oggdo rears back with his mouth open for a few seconds, you'll need to perfectly time a dodge or jump sideways to avoid a nasty charge bite that can (and probably will) kill you in one hit. The best thing to do here is to use the same technique you did for the Acid Spew - jump to the side, double-jump towards Oggdo, and then unleash some melee attacks.

Tongue Grab

Oggdo will occasionally jump back and open his mouth while looking at Cal, which means he's about to launch his tongue at you. If he gets you, you'll definitely die in one hit, so this is one you really need to avoid. Again, either side-step or jump at the right time to avoid the tongue, and then get in as fast as you can to hit him while he's retracting it. You could actually pull the tongue in Fallen Order to stun him, but I didn't try this as I was too busy dying.

Quick Stomp

Oggdo will usually do this move after you hit him a few times, so it's easy to predict. Simply dodge backward when he gets in the air to avoid the little shockwave he sends out, and then get in for some hits.

Big Stomp

After Oggdo loses half of its health, it'll start charging its leaps for a bigger shockwave. Although dodging does seem viable, I found it easier to jump in the air and then double-jump away to make sure that there was enough distance for Cal. At this point in the fight, you're better off just waiting for some of the more predictable moves.

Remember that you can use a past failure to your advantage. If you have died fighting Oggdo, then you will have the ability to heal all your health but interacting with the glowing mark located in the spot where you died. Don't use this right away, instead, fight Oggdo near it, and only claim it once you are severely injured. This way, you can use it like a Stimpack of sorts.

If you learn enough of these moves, Spawn of Oggdo Bogdo should eventually be routine enough to take down. He is a tricky foe, we can say that without question, but he is absoluitely beatable. Even if you encounter him early in the game.

Once you've beaten the devil frog, look in the back of the cave to find a crate, which contains the poncho for you to wear. You'll also get the "A Presence I've Not Felt Since..." trophy once you equip it.

Fractured History Force Tear

Once you have beaten Oggdo, interact with the strange frog hanging out in this cave. Now, head back to Doma's shop, and you can interact with another frog that looks very similar. This will plunge you into the Fractured History Force Tear, which is a battle against not one, but two Oggdo Bogdos. If that thought has you sweating, worry not, we've got just the guide for you!
