Stardew Valley is a game with few limits. There are plenty of buildings and upgrades you can get for your farm, and the modding community always has something new for you to try. Different buildings for the farm and the town are a big one – everyone wants to add more, get bigger, and use a little more imagination to add something new and amazing.

If you’re looking for something to spruce up your game, then you’re in the right place. From little sheds to magical gateways, there’s bound to be something new and fun you can find to give your farm a little extra oomph.

10 Little Sheds

Stardew Valley Little Sheds 5 Sheds with the farmer standing in front of them

Sheds were a great addition to the game. A whole building to do whatever you want with? It's perfect.

However, they're big, take up an entire 7x3 area, and cost 15,000 gold and 300 wood, so finding the right spot that's the right size can be hard. That's what Little Sheds are for! This mod introduces a smaller, cheaper version of the shed, in different colors and styles, ready to fit into your farm however you see fit.

The trade-off is a smaller inside, but you can build as many as you want if you need more room.

9 Bigger Sheds

Stardew Valley Bigger Sheds

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Bigger Sheds mod. This will keep the outside of the shed the same as vanilla, but expands the inside to a whopping 32x24, with a total of 768 tiles.

Expand your casks or kegs or furnaces or create your own space away from your spouse, decorated however you like. And because the exterior doesn’t expand, it’ll take up the same amount of space on your farm, so they’re another great addition to an already great building.

8 Magic Greenhouse Gateway

One of Stardew Valley’s many charming aspects is the magical elements – the Juminos, the Wizard, the caves, etc. Magic Greenhouse Gateway brings some more of that charm to your farm by replacing the greenhouse with a stone archway and a colored portal of your choice.

It pairs with the Magic Garden mod, which makes for a nice magical getaway right in the middle of your mostly normal farm. It's like your own little secret garden!

7 Witchy-Gothic Buildings

Stardew Valley Witchy Gothic Various farm buildings colored purple

Sometimes you just want to change things up, maybe add a little color, maybe play with a different type of aesthetic. Witchy-Gothic Buildings is the perfect mod for adding a nice, magical feeling to your farm.

The soft, purple color will pop perfectly against the background of your grounds. You'll need Alternative Textures to use this, or any other texture mod, but it will open an entirely new world of decoration for your farm.

6 White Shane Coop and Mailbox

Stardew Valley Shane White Coop Coops left to right for different seasons, with mailboxes in front of them

Shane's intriguing storyline leads to finding out about his love of raising chickens, and if you marry him, his spouse space will have a chicken coop. The White Shane Coop and Mailbox mod will spruce this up a little, giving it a white exterior and a seasonal mailbox.

It's mostly a cosmetic change, meant to help the coop fit in if you use other aesthetic mods. It's a small detail, but pleasing to the eye, especially if you're someone who likes to have matching everything.

5 New Building – Winery

Unlocking the cellar and casks is a huge step forward for your profits, but it can take a while to get there. If you want casks early, then you want New Building – Winery.

It can be built by Robin, takes up about the same amount of space as a barn, and comes with casks already included. Start your wine production early and strong, and watch that gold come flowing in.

4 Buildable Bathhouse

The bathhouse is handy after a long day of farming or spelunking, so take a soak and wait for your energy to regenerate. But it can feel so far away sometimes, and almost like it’s not worth the effort.

Wouldn’t have one on your farm be much more convenient? Then Buildable Bathhouse is the mod for you.

Simply speak to Robin and choose a place on your grounds for it, just like a vanilla farm building. Finish your morning chores and go relax your muscles in a nice warm bath to prepare for the rest of the day.

3 Aviary

Stardew Valley Aviary Exterior of Aviary with a silo behind it, and various birds

Who doesn’t like a nice new animal building? Aviary was originally made for custom birds from the BVAF mod, but it will hold any barn/coop animals.

While you can buy new animals to put there, you can’t move anything from existing coops into it. It’ll hold up to 12 animals, and while it doesn’t have all the perks of fully upgraded vanilla buildings, it’s something nice and different to break up the monotony of coops and barns.

2 Decorative Rarecrow Vendors

Stardew Valley Rarecrow Vendors Four scarcrows with different vendor stands

The rarecrows are fun to collect and offer a larger area of protection than regular scarecrows, but mostly they offer a different kind of decoration. Decorative Rarecrow Vendors offer an extra decoration by giving each of the rarecrows their vendor stand, similar to the one Pierre occupies during different festivals.

You can group them up or spread them around the farm, maybe create different themes in different parts of the area. The only limit is your imagination.

1 Linus's Cabin

Stardew Valley Linus's Cabin Interior of Linus's Cabin, similar to his tent

Linus is a beloved character in the game. He's an old nomad making his way up in the mountains, living off the wild (and sometimes other people's trash), and sometimes paying you to run errands for him, proving he's not poor - he just likes his way of life.

Maybe you're a player who wants to let Linus live, or you're one of the players who want to give him somewhere warm to go, at least for the cold days.

That's where Linus's Cabin comes in, giving Linus a small shelter where he can keep his meager belongings and hide from the weather (and vandals). It's a mod that walks the line between respecting Linus's choices while also trying to take care of him the way you do the rest of the community.
