As you explore the creepy yet visually astonishing areas in the remake of Resident Evil 4, you will come across all types of enemies that were present in the original. A returning enemy that terrifies players is the Regenerator. These grotesque monsters are formidable foes that are nimble and can extend their limbs to attack from a distance.

They can regrow their limbs, making fighting them impossible if you do not know how to. The Regenerators will continue to haunt you throughout your journey if they are not killed. Here are strategies and tactics to effectively fight against these enemies.

Where To Find The Biosensor Scope

The Regenerator will first make its appearance in Chapter 13. As their weak spot is not visible to you at the moment, running away is the best course of action. However, that does not mean you will always need to run away from them.

As you explore the Lab and avoid the enemies, you will have to make your way to the Dissection Room, where you will have to solve a puzzle to grab the Level 1 Key Card. Once you acquire the Key Card, switch the power to the Freezer and go there. This is where you will find the Level 2 Key Card.

After acquiring it, go to the Incubation Lab and head to the control room. Here you will find a case inside of which is the Biosensor Scope.

Once you have acquired the Biosensor Scope, you must attach it to a compatible weapon.

It can be attached to a few weapons, and the sensor will allow you to look at the enemy through thermal vision to locate the parasite inside their body.

Here are the compatible weapons for the Biosensor Scope:

Weapons

Where To Find

SRM1903

You can acquire it from the merchant for 12,000 Pesetas.

Stingray

You can acquire the Stingray for 30,000 Pesetas from the merchant.

CQBR AR

It is inside a locked box that you find in Chapter 10. Alternatively can be bought from the merchant.

LE5

It is located inside the Freezer Room in Chapter 13.

Attaching the sensor to a sniper such as Stingray is an excellent choice. If you do not have the money to spend on the weapon, you can still use CQBR AR or LE5, which are also great options for mid-range.

Killing Regenerators Quickly

A deadly attack that the Regenerators tend to do is to start crawling on the ground. They are much faster when on the ground and close the distance relatively quicker, allowing them to pounce on you. Try to stay away from them when this happens.

As Biosensor Scope can only be used on ranged guns, this will allow you to fight off these monsters from afar.

The Regenerator can extend its arms and attack you from a distance. This deadly attack can deal high damage, but it can be parried with a Knife if you can get the timing down.

Try to be aware of your surroundings throughout the fight. This is because you find most Regenerators inside small rooms where you can be backed into a corner, leading to your death.

If you aim to kill the enemy quickly, you will need to use a couple of items to make the fight much easier and shorter. As soon as the enemy is aggressive towards you, throw a Flash Grenade at the Regenerator, which will temporarily stun it.

This will give you enough time to aim at the parasites inside its body and destroy them while it cannot react.

You can also throw a grenade near the area of the body where the parasite is located to deal high damage to it. Having multiple Flash Grenades will allow you to stun-lock the boss and take out the parasites in less than a minute.

Shotguns are also a great option, as they can obliterate the enemy's health bar. Once the parasite is exposed, a few shots from a Shotgun destroy it. Recommended options are W-870 and Striker Shotgun, which have high damage output.

Using a Knife at close range is not ideal, as Knife in the remake is much weaker and decreases in durability.

If you are persistent, you can use the Knife to attack the enemy revealing its parasites and parry any attacks it does. This is difficult, but an alternative method if you do not have the Biosensor Scope.

In the latter chapters, you will encounter more Regenerators that look the same at the start, but after you destroy the parasites within them, they will mutate and turn into Iron Maidens, which spikes all over their bodies. These monsters have their weak spot located near their mouth and are quite tanky.
