The ability to fuse weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom has already led to a ton of new combat strategies that encourage you to flex your creative muscles. From giant two-handed hammers to ridiculously long spears and other hobbled-together weapons, your options for crafting the death device of your dreams are quite open-ended.
While many of the most powerful weapon fusions in Tears of the Kingdom can be crafted using common items, some require you to seek out tougher enemies in more dangerous parts of the world. By experimenting with different objects, you’re bound to discover new fuse combinations that will aid you throughout your journey.
10 Captain III Reaper: Fight Like A Zonai
It’s no secret that Zonaite weapons are among the most powerful in Tears of the Kingdom as far as base weapons are concerned. However, you can make these ancient artifacts even stronger by fusing them with certain items to increase their damage.
Some of the best materials for weapon fusions are Soldier Construct Horns, which have a chance of dropping from defeated Zonai Soldiers. Having access to both items will allow you to craft the Captain III Reaper, a strong Zonai sword reinforced with a Captain Construct III Horn.
9 Mighty-Stick Scimitar: Basic But Effective
For a more basic one-handed weapon that doesn’t compromise on damage, the Mighty-Stick Scimitar can be crafted fairly early on in the game. This powerful fuse weapon combination calls for a Gnarled Wooden Stick, which can be found in Eastern Hyrule between Akkala Falls and Kaepora Pass.
When fused with any one-handed weapon, the result is the Mighty-Stick Scimitar, an impressive early-game death tool capable of making quick work of most foes. You can also use a Gnarled Wooden Stick to make a host of other spiked, boulder, and bouncy weapons in Tears of the Kingdom.
8 Freeze Spear: An Icy Proposition
Elemental damage is even more viable in Tears of the Kingdom than it was in Breath of the Wild due to the abundance of resources and Link’s new fuse arm ability. Whether you’re looking to burn, freeze, shock, or simply blow enemies away with a strong gust of wind, there’s no shortage of options at your disposal.
When it comes to harnessing the power of ice, you’ll find the Freeze Spear is quite effective. Crafting this weapon requires you to melt large icicles into small chunks that can then be fused with any long-range weapon, preferably spears. Once fused, you’ll be able to pick apart single targets and freeze them where they stand.
7 Muddle Bud Arrows: Confuse Enemies
Muddle Buds are another useful fuse material that emits a strange odor capable of disorientating enemies and getting them to attack each other. They’re typically found inside large caves in the Depths, but also have a chance of appearing in caves and wells near the surface as well.
You can attach Muddle Buds to both weapons and arrows to trigger their effects, though the latter is preferable to avoid alerting an entire group of enemies. Once a monster becomes affected by a Muddle Bud, it’ll begin to turn on its allies and do all the fighting for you.
6 Homing Arrows: Land Every Shot
If you’re someone who has trouble lining up shots with the bow and arrow in Tears of the Kingdom, then Homing Arrows are an absolute must-have. These cleverly modified arrowheads are designed to always reach their target, affording you some leeway while aiming.
You can craft Homing Arrows using basic arrows and various monster parts such as Keese Eyeballs, Aerocuda Eyeballs, and Octorok Eyeballs. While powerful, these arrows have one fatal flaw: aiming at a cluster of enemies may cause them to seek out the wrong target.
5 Bomb Flower Arrows: Impressive Splash Damage
One of the more basic but effective fuse combinations available early on is the Bomb Flower Arrow, which harnesses the destructive power of Bomb Flowers. What makes these special arrows so great is the high amount of area of effect damage they provide upon making contact.
This allows Link to set up from afar and target multiple enemies grouped together. They’re especially handy when dealing with Boss Bokoblins as they’re typically surrounded by Bokoblin minions. For the best results, pair Bomb Flower Arrows with a high-level bow.
4 Blue Boss Boko Halberd: Two-Handed Chaos
Speaking of Boss Bokoblins, these beefy bad guys can yield some of the best fuse materials in the entire game, particularly the Blue variants, which have a chance of dropping Blue Boss Bokoblin Horns when defeated in battle.
When paired with a two-handed weapon such as Halberds, their fuse attack power rivals that of Soldier Constructs. To find Blue Boss Bokoblins, you’ll want to check the central and eastern regions of Hyrule, where they can be found roaming around with a squad of smaller Bokoblins.
3 Blue Horriblin Hammer: Anything But Horrible
Aside from being one of the scariest enemies in Tears of the Kingdom, Horriblins possess some of the best parts for weapon fusions. Tracking one down requires you to explore Hyrule’s many caves as well as the Death Mountain Depths in Northeast Eldin.
Just like with Boss Bokoblins, the Blue variants are going to be your best option for crafting powerful two-handed weapons, in this case, the Blue Horriblin Hammer. Once bested in battle, Blue Horriblins will drop Blue Horriblin Horns, Claws, and Guts.
2 Spiked Iron Ball Hammer: Painfully Prickly
Moving along, the Spiked Iron Ball Hammer is yet another excellent two-handed fuse weapon that boasts high attack and deals blunt damage, making it useful for breaking apart giant boulders and mining deposits as well as knocking out enemies and destroying armor.
That last point is especially important as you advance further in the game and start encountering monsters with yellow health bars that can only be penetrated using blunt weapons. While you’re free to craft more basic ones using rocks and swords, the Spiked Iron Ball variant is easily the most powerful.
1 Silver Lynel Blade: Fast And Deadly
If you find yourself shuttering at the thought of having to fight a Lynel, then you’re not alone, as these centaur-like enemies have been tormenting Zelda players for decades. In Tears of the Kingdom, they’re stronger than ever, with Silver Lynels ranking at the very top of the food chain.
As you would expect, the rewards for slaying such formidable foes are quite good, granting you materials for making the most powerful weapon fusions in the game using Silver Lynel Saber Horns. The downside (or upside?) to using Lynel-fused weapons is that they only increase in power as the weapon becomes badly damaged.
