The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s new Ultra-Hand ability brings a sense of creation that can be found nowhere else. You will be using this feature a lot in the game, and experimenting with what works best for you. There are Zonai Devices that you can hunt down and use within your builds, and in all honesty, this is a game-changing feature.
This changes traversal completely because you can now build vehicles. Link had his Master Cycle taken away during the Upheaval, and now he must use all the tools at his disposal to make his journey across Hyrule much easier. There’s so much to build in the game, planes, cars, tanks, bikes, hover bikes, and even some unique things. So, here are some of the best vehicles you can build in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
8 The Flying Car
The thing with vehicles in this game is that they drain your battery really fast. This is why the simple Flying Car is by far one of the most efficient ways of getting around Hyrule. All you need is a small wooden board, two fans, and a steering stick — combine them all into one and you’re ready to take to the skies.
This vehicle is great for exploration, if you’ve got enough energy cells, you can fly for a solid few minutes without having to stop. It will help you out during your time traversing Hyrule, but just don’t rely on it too much if you’re up in the Sky Islands.
7 The Skateboard
The Skateboard is essentially the most fun way to traverse around Hyrule, and it’s not even a proper vehicle! You see those Minecarts laying around the whole map in most places you go? Well, you can attach those to a shield and effectively turn it into a Skateboard. This makes your Shield Surfing ability much more viable, especially on flat terrain.
This thing goes fast, if you have enough momentum going, it can actually take you around the map at an exhilarating pace. Not to mention, it doesn’t require many resources. All it needs is a simple shield and a Minecart that you can find almost anywhere if you go looking for it.
6 The Stealth Bomber
This is a hard vehicle to make, and it’s got a lot of moving parts. It has fans, cannons, a steering stick, and a bunch of wooden planks, but it's well worth it. Once you get this vehicle going, there is nothing that can stop it. You can basically destroy enemies and they won’t even be able to see you.
Fly this bad boy over a Bokoblin camp and watch them get annihilated. It’s not even funny how simple this can be to use, but the movement is a bit tricky to understand and it's heavy on the battery drain. However, once you get the hang of it, it’s an amazing vehicle to have.
5 The Speeder Bike
The simplest and yet the most effective land vehicle in the game, The Speeder is an absolute masterpiece. This vehicle is great for travelling both Hyrule and the Depths because it only needs three parts to make and it barely drains any battery. It’s such an efficient long-distance vehicle that you won’t ever need to grind for the golden horse. It’s a bit awkward to get on it, but you can just use Recall to make it stand straight so you can get a hold of the stick.
A small wheel, a stabilizer, and a steering stick are all you need — stack them on top of each other and get moving. It can be used very well in the Depths; all you need to do is attach a Brightbloom Seed to it and you have a Speeder with a Headlight as bright as the sun.
4 Da Truck
Da Truck is for those journeys where you want to carry something, but you don’t want to Ultra-Hand carry it for hours. Or maybe there are a bunch of things you need to carry all at once. In any case, this vehicle will serve you well. This one isn’t too heavy on the battery, and it’s good for rough terrain too despite not having any springs for suspension.
You can put anything you want in the back and carry stuff around; it can be logs, Zonai Devices, or even Koroks if you’d like to torture them a bit more. In any case, Da Truck is there to make sure your Amazon Delivery Guy experience in Hyrule is much more fun!
3 King Of The Jets
This Jet is better than any other long-range flying device in-game. It is basically your average Wing Zonai Device but on steroids. You can actually control this one and determine your path, and it can be very simple to make with very creative custom builds. You need a wing, a couple of fans, a few batteries, and a steering stick.
You can make this vehicle your own with even more adjustments. For example, you can add a Balloon to it or even Brightblooms or Lights to make it a more suitable device for the Depths, although it won’t serve you too well down there. It’s a great one to traverse the Sky Islands with, though!
2 The Hover Bike
The Hover Bike is the natural evolution of the Speeder Bike. It’s a completely different vehicle of course, but it's similar in the sense that it drains very little battery and it has some of the easiest handling in the game. All you need are two fans and a steering stick — attach them all together and have the time of your life.
This vehicle is phenomenal for exploration essentially anywhere, from the surface of Hyrule to the Depths and even the Sky Islands. It works so well on the Sky Islands that you’d never want to touch the ground. It can essentially make traversal completely easier for you, and that too in a fun way.
1 Mech The Destroyer Of Bokoblin Camps
This is by far one of the hardest vehicles to build in Tears of the Kingdom, but it's one that will be so worth it when going up against tough Bokoblin camps. To be clear, this isn’t a viable vehicle for either exploration or traversal; this is meant for pure unfiltered destruction.
This mech has a lot of parts, a couple of carts, a stabilizer, a bunch of cannons, stakes, big wheels, some construction heads, wooden beams, and a steering stick. Of course, this build requires some time to make, and it’s a huge drain on the battery. However, once you’re in it, and you’re taking on the Bokoblin camps, you’ll see true chaos reign upon them.
