Shrines are a necessary evil in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and like so many in this installment, Gatakis Shrine is a simple and fun challenge that puts your gliding skills to the test. It's a nice shrine to challenge when you're not feeling the complicated building puzzles and combat trials.
Located on the right side of the Rito Village staircase entrance, it's a necessary teleportation point. Its location near the Rito Village shrine also means having a shortcut on hand for turning in your Light Blessings, so you'll certainly want to spend the time challenging this shrine.
How To Complete Gatakis Shrine: Ride The Winds
From the start, jump with your paraglider to glide over onto the far platform. There are no gimmicks here, so ride across without issue.
Turning around the corner is where things begin to heat up.
You'll notice several lasers down the hallway ahead. Additionally, there is a fan behind you blowing a strong wind that will increase your gliding speed.
The goal here is to maneuver through the lasers to the other side without getting hit. The most fail-safe strategy here is to stick to the right side window-gap without getting too close to the wall.
You may also slide along the left side wall, but deviating even slightly from the wall will get you hit by the final laser narrowly hugging the left side.
Around the corner and in the next room is a giant fan. Jump into it and take out your sail to get a good bearing first.
Your goal is to fall down through the moving open hole. Let go of the paraglider to dive into it, deploying it only when you've mistimed yourself and need to reset.
Inside the next room is a large box-like structure with a frozen circle at the top. Either land on it or shoot it with an arrow to break it.
With the ice broken, you'll fall into the next chamber filled with enemies.
Each of the enemies is a Zonai equipped with a bow. The first one on your left and the closest to you guards a chest with a Strong Construct Bow. Take it if needed.
As you enter the chamber, you can either snipe the remaining enemies with your bow or land on their respective platforms to deal with them in melee. They typically each drop arrows if you find yourself without.
Either way, once defeated, you must pass through into the next chamber through the open window in the wall.
However, the fan will push you upwards so long as you have the paraglider. Therefore, in order to pass through, you'll need to time letting go of your paraglider to dive into the window.
Once through the window, deploy your paraglider again and rise to the top where you can finally end this shrine, take its blessing, and return to the land of Hyrule and your adventure.
