Cuccos have long been a staple around Hyrule, but in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you and your winged reporter friend, Penn, will be consulting one for leads on a story you can publish in the Lucky Clover Gazette.

Yep, you read that right – Penn needs you to the Cucco and ask for a prophecy, which leads to Link proving himself worthy of Cucco wisdom in a series of short tests. If you need some help convincing the All-Knowing Cucco that you’re worth a Tears of the Kingdom prophecy, let us help you convince this prophetic poultry.

This guide contains slight spoilers for Side Adventures in Tears of the Kingdom.

How To Begin "The All-Knowing Cucco"

This quest begins when you speak to Penn at South Akkala Stable, as another portion of the "Potential Princess Sightings!" overarching Side Adventure.

When you say hello to Penn, he tells you he's pretty tapped for leads on your quest. However, South Akkala Stable is home to the All-Knowing Cucco, famous all over Hyrule for offering prophecies to visitors who come seeking guidance.

Without many other options, Penn sends you to go speak to the All-Knowing Cucco, located on the hilltop just beside the stable.

Speaking to the man in the Cece mushroom clothing will reveal the location of Tarrey Town, if you've not unlocked it yourself and are interested in visiting.

Before you can receive your prophecy, the All-Knowing Cucco feels it needs to test your resolve with two tasks.

The All-Knowing Cucco's First Test: Reach The Top Of The Stable

First, you must reach the top of the horse head on the South Akkala Stable in the given time limit of 45 seconds.

You can do this in any way you feel most comfortable, be that paragliding, Ascending, climbing, or a combination of all - the only thing that matters is that you get there in the time limit.

If you're using Ascension, the placement can be finicky, but the timer pauses as Link actually Ascends, meaning you won't lose time in the cutscene.

The All-Knowing Cucco's Second Test: Bring It Three Logs

After you're warped back to the Cucco, it presents you with your next task - bring it three logs from the area below within the time limit of 90 seconds.

The easiest way to do this is to paraglide off the cliff to the right of the Cucco, where you'll see several lush trees. There's a cluster of three trees almost directly beside the Cucco, so chop down three trees with any axe or sword.

Instead of bringing them all to the Cucco one by one, though, the fastest way to finish this task is to fuse the tree trunks together with Ultrahand, and then use Ultrahand again to raise them up the hill toward the Cucco.

The All-Knowing Cucco's Final Test: Fight!

You didn't really think there was a Cucco dispensing wisdom, did you? Of course not - this was a setup by the Yiga Clan.

You'll suddenly be attacked by a few Yiga Clan members, who'll come at you at the same time.

The Yiga Clan members are a fantastic time to use Zonai weapons that make use of the Flame and Shock Emitters.

They're quick to move and can teleport quite far if they're not paralyzed in some way, so use the elements to your advantage to trap them in one spot, so you can fight them more fairly.

Once the Yiga have been dispatched, Penn will catch up to you for a summary of what's gone on. He offers you the reward concurrent with where you are in the overarching "Potential Princess Sightings!" quest line, and "The All-Knowing Cucco" is marked complete once he flies away.
