The option to swap your health and stamina meters in Breath of the Wild was invaluable to your gameplay experience, and the mechanic has returned once again in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The function works a bit differently in practice this time around, but the central tenet of reducing one in order to gain for the other will continue to serve you well.

You cannot begin the requisite quest to unlock the statue needed until you've finished your first dungeon.

Swapping stamina and health has been made much easier in Tears of the Kingdom than it was in its predecessor, Breath of the Wild.

To begin, speak to the guard at Lookout Landing, the one standing directly in the center of town. You need to open the emergency shelter to continue.

Lookout Landing is right by Hyrule Castle - it's where you met up with Purah after arriving in Hyrule immediately following the tutorial.

After speaking with the guard, drop off this platform and speak to Jerrin beside the hole in the wall, which begins the side adventure titled, "Who Goes There?" Venture into this hole and use Bomb Flowers to blow up the rocks within. Check out our complete guide to the quest "Who Goes There" to ensure you finish the quest.

Just in this nook is the Cursed Statue, which will do your change for you. When you speak to the Statue, you'll choose either one heart or one stamina vessel to give to the Statue. In exchange, you'll receive 100 Rupees.

After this, you can then buy back what you sold for 120 Rupees, meaning you only need to source 20 Rupees yourself. When you buy back your essence from the Statue, you can choose how you receive it: as a heart container or as a stamina vessel.

Once you've unlocked access to the Cursed Statue, you can do this trade-off as many times as you want or need, provided you have enough Rupees to do so.

There will be times throughout Tears of the Kingdom when you need more stamina than health, while other situations call for more health than stamina - visit often to adjust as needed.
