The demo for Street Fighter 6 was recently released for PlayStation consoles and it is a great preview of what to expect from the title which releases in June. However, one thing players are quickly learning is that those CPU opponents are not messing around. In fact, even Legendary Street Fighter players are struggling to take down the beefed-up CPU.
The good folks over at Resetera shared a YouTube video of well-known Street Fighter player, Daigo, struggling to take on the game’s CPU opponents. Of course, the difficulty setting for the computer-controlled opponents is set to the maximum level 8. Still, Daigo is surprised by how difficult it is to topple the foe. In fact, the just over nine-minute-long video ends with the computer annihilating the Street Fighter legend.
As the match progresses, Daigo comments on how the computer plays. He first remarks that the CPU is “really good” and that it must “press the right buttons”. Even when the player thinks he has an opening to get some good moves in, he is immediately shut out by the maxed-out opponent. As Daigo continues to go up against the CPU, it seems like he is getting a little frustrated. While he initially called the CPU “amazing”, he quickly flipped to accusing the AI of cheating.
It is clear from the video that Capcom put some extra effort into making sure a maxed-out difficulty would put up a challenge. As Daigo tries and tries to take down his foe, it seems he is never quite able to pin down its move set or predict its moves. Coupled with an ridiculously good neutral jump and the ability to react quickly to moves, it looks like a level eight CPU is going to give many players a hard time. In fact, Daigo even comments, as he unsuccessfully tries to win, that this may be even harder than Elden Ring.
So, if the guy who made a miraculous comeback in a Street Fighter 3 semi-final match at the 2004 EVO championships can’t beat this CPU, what chance do the rest of us have? Thankfully, you don’t have to crank that difficulty up to the max level to take on a CPU. You can always do like I do and beat up that level one until you feel better about yourself.
In other Street Fighter 6 news, Capcom confirmed that Akuma, Rashid, Ed, and A.K.I are heading to the game in some year one DLC. Plus, players will be able to download just the parts of the game they want, to optimize their experience. Oh, and you will be able to fight a fridge at some point in the game.
