There have been many iconic interpretations of Spider-Man over the years, across various mediums. We've had three versions of Peter Parker in the movies, a whole bunch of video games, and countless comic book and animated versions. Insomniac's version of Pete is only the latest in a long line of Webcrawlers, and in Spider-Man 2, he will be wearing the fan-favourite Symbiote suit.

The recent PlayStation showcase revealed Pete and Miles zipping all over New York, trying to reach Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. Lizard, before Kraven and his goons can. While we don't know how Pete got his hands on the Symbiote suit this time, we got to see some of the new powers it gives him. But, as we know when it comes to the Symbiote suite, with great power comes a bad attitude.

As expected, the showcase revealed Pete to be angry, edgy, and more brash than he's ever been. He constantly bayed for Kraven's blood and was also pretty careless about innocent bystanders. Seeing this, long-time fans are now hoping that Insomniac will recreate an iconic moment from the 90's Spider-Man cartoon, featuring Shocker (thanks, GamesRadar).

In the cartoon, a Symbiote-suited Spidey chases down Shocker, and as you'd expect, is deadlier and angrier than ever. As the electric villain flees, Spidey yells out to him in the most over-the-top manner, saying that he'll chase him down to the ends of the Earth. It was quite an unintentionally funny moment, which has now become a meme.

As we saw from the showcase footage, the Symbiote suit has definitely taken out the "friendly" from our neighbourhood Spider-Man, who isn't afraid to use his own "big teeth" against Lazard, if he has to. The game also appears to have a GTA 5-like system which will allow us to swap between Peter and Miles, leading many fans to believe that the two will even square off once the Symbiote's hold over the former becomes too strong.

While we've only seen a fraction of a game that isn't even in its final form, Spider-Man fans have once again reignited the Puddlegate debate from the first game. A number of comments pointed out the Spider-Men's interaction with the water in the Hudson river, saying things like the lighting isn't as good as it should be, the splash effects are all wrong, or that the two are not as wet as they should be.

In fact, a few fans are also unhappy about the way the Symbiote suit looks overall. The video showed it to resemble a normal cloth suit in its resting state, with armour pads too. This didn't go down too well with some fans, who want it to look gooey and shiney like Venom.
