Peter and Miles are almost ready to grace us with a new adventure throughout New York City with Marvel's Spider-Man 2. We've finally received gameplay, showing us the new baddie, Kraven, along with the Lizard, some plot points the game will have, and new combat mechanics with the breathtaking Symbiote Suit.

However, seeing these things only makes you wonder what to expect from the game. Between concepts, mechanics, missions, and more, we do have our expectations. Hopefully, whether all these things happen or not, the end product will be as gorgeous as we expected.

9 Connections To Other Marvel Characters

One of the coolest parts of venturing into Manhattan in the previous games is all the Marvel Easter Eggs scattered throughout it. Now that the map will be bigger, taking more of NYC's boroughs, exploring those areas for even more Easter Eggs will be a blast.

These connections don't need to be deeper than that since having another random hero popping up could take attention away from the Spiders – though having Wolverine show up, teasing his game, would be fun. Regardless, just seeing how big the world is through its details is beautiful in itself.

8 Even More Suits

Sorry, Insomniac, but you have spoiled us with all the suits, and now, we want more for both web heads. The previous games have many classic and obscure suits from movies and comic books. Though changing Peter's appearance would be a bit immersion-breaking, the same can't be said about Miles.

Having some of them re-used for being classics is more than okay, but it would be fun to see even more obscure suits showing Spider-Man's comic lore. More suits with cartoon aesthetics would be cool, too, because they all looked amazing.

7 Wraith

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Wraith

We already got a Wraith reference, and it's very unlikely that she'll be just a reference. The first game's DLC showed Yuri going from Police Captain to vigilante, though she didn't adopt a persona back then. But now we know Wraith is around.

The best part of Wraith is that she's a wild card. For all we know, she can be a villain, become an ally, or still be friendly from the beginning despite her brutality. Either way, Yuri was a highlight, and having her work with or against Spidey would be fun.

6 Venom's Identity

Peter has the Symbiote Suit, which has unique abilities that can be upgraded. Thinking from a developer's perspective, that raises a few questions. Venom is already confirmed; we know he needs the Symbiote to exist. Does that mean we'll lose all these powers? Is there more than one alien goo around? Or will Venom only appear at the very end of the game?

And if so, who will he be? Many believe Harry will be Venom, given the first game's ending, and it would make things quite dramatic. Still, some are theorizing that Peter himself could be Venom. Either way could be the case. Or the game will just present Eddie Brock to us, and that'll be it. Still, the man behind the goo is a mystery and an intriguing one we want to see unfold.

5 Fewer Villains In The Main Plot

Kraven, Vemon, and the Lizard, from Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The original game focused mainly on two baddies: Mister Negative and Doctor Octavius. However, the game also had the Sinister Six, which, while fun, made the appearance of many high-level villains too quick, and they left the plot almost as fast as they appeared.

We already know Kraven and Venom will be a thing, as well as the Lizard, who will be plot-relevant as Peter is apparently seeking him to cure Harry. While there are many villains to explore, perhaps keeping a lower number would be better.

4 Side Missions Focused On Other Villains

With that said, this is a video game, not a movie, meaning we have more time to explore things. While the main story can focus on a smaller cast, side content can take advantage of multiple villains, similar to how Kingpin, Tombstone, and Taskmaster were used in the previous game.

This is a perfect opportunity to introduce minor villains or even take advantage of enemies from the first game who had little time to shine, like having missions dedicated to fighting Vulture or Electro.

3 Side-Content Variety

This is almost nitpicky territory at this point, but having more variety with side activities is a great plus. There's a good chance strongholds will return with Kraven's Hunters, which is all good. Still, we need them to be more different from one another, as well as more crime scenarios to solve and the aforementioned missions that involve villains, similar to Tombstone's.

Some concepts also wouldn't make sense if they returned, like the backpacks, pigeons, and Harry's stations, so there'll likely be something to replace them. Regardless, as long as they offer fun gameplay opportunities, that's all that matters.

2 Peter Vs. Miles

On the one hand, we have a Spider suffering from anger issues with a Symbiote trying to take over. On the other hand, we have another Spider who'll do his best to save his friend from the evil alien goo. That has 'dramatic Boss Fight' written all over it.

Having to fight a Spider-Man, featuring his new abilities would be perfect for whenever they manage to free Peter from the Symbiote or even a potential endgame fight. Peter's character journey in this game is already proving to be great, and this could be the culmination of his arc. Alternatively, a twist fight where we get to stay as evil Peter, and the Boss is Miles, would also be intense.

1 Consequences For The Suit

Spider-Man 2 symbiote

As mentioned, Peter will have a complicated journey ahead of him. Though we all expect him to be saved from the Symbiote, it would be nice to see the ramifications of using the suit for what looks like it will be most of the game.

If he's just angry with people, everyone will forgive him eventually. But if something more complicated happened, the story would be better for it. Could you imagine if Peter actually killed someone with the suit? It doesn't need to be something that drastic, but he can't just get rid of the suit and be all like, 'I'm good now, guys, thanks for the help.'
