Even though clothing aesthetics in FPS games are mainly for whoever happens to be looking at your character, they can still be fun and amusing. Redfall has these in the form of Outfits which you can collect during the game and change into from the pause menu.

They don't provide any sort of benefit like increasing attack power or reducing damage intake, they're just something to define your hero your own way. There aren't that many Outfits in the game, but they're also not quick to unlock either. Of the ones that are available, some stick out a bit more than others.

6 How To Unlock Outfits

Even though Redfall is dependent on online accessibility and the community in order to thrive, it currently doesn't have an in-game store. The good news is that this means that all the Outfits can be earned just by playing the game.

The bad news is that it's not always clear what you need to do in order to get specific pieces.

There are four sections to the Outfits menu: Outfits, Head, Body, and Backpack. The most reliable way to unlock individual pieces or at times whole ensembles, is to complete missions, and both Main and Side Missions have the potential to reward you upon completion.

Changing the difficulty settings has the chance to get different color variants, but you'll have to do multiple runs. The final way to unlock Outfit pieces is by finding them in specially marked areas like certain shops, facilities, and structures.

Whenever you do enter a marked area, for a mission or otherwise, make sure you comb over everything very carefully. If Outfit pieces are to be found, they will almost always be in nondescript bags like lootable backpacks, and anything marked by Cultists or Bellweather forces will contain weapons, ammo, tools, and supplies.

5 Bite Back Outfits

Redfall is still new but launched with the offer to expand the base game with an aesthetic expansion. Called the Bite Back Edition, the most appealing element it offers is a chance to play as two additional heroes who are expected to join the roster later on.

It also unlocks a new Outfit for each of the starting four heroes. Known as the Throwback, these Outfits do more than add some colorful flair.

They're meant to give some insight into whom the heroes were before they came to Redfall. If you're not wanting to linger in cutscenes and listen to the constant dialogue they have, then these Outfits are a quiet and nice-looking alternative to understanding each hero's history and personality better.

4 Hub Outfits

Redfall has a lot of ways to keep you busy, especially with Vampire Nests that never fully go away, but there are currently only two maps in the game: Redfall Commons and Burial Point. Both areas have an HQ building which is the Fire Station and the Maritime Center respectively.

As convenience would have it, each place also has an associated Outfit. By finishing Missions in the Fire Station, you'll unlock the Four-Alarm Fighters Outfit and by finishing the Missions in the Maritime Center, you'll unlock the Brazen Beacon Outfit.

They're perfectly tailored to their setting, they have a nice clean look, and they represent a pleasant reward for making the area safe again.

3 Alpha Outfits

Whether you participate in any sort of animal role-playing, it's undeniable that wolves are very cool animals. They're tough, strong, vicious, and exceptional hunters so there's nothing wrong with admiring them.

Speaking of, there's a surprising number of taxidermy wolves all around Redfall even if you'll never actually have to fight any. Text within the game claims that these are dire wolves, and it offers you the chance to look like one.

Known as the Alpha Outfit, there are currently four variants available. They're split into two pieces, a Head, and a Body.

You can unlock them by completing all sorts of Missions, specifically Story and Safe House Missions. Since you'll only be able to see your hands and arms, it's funny to see them looking in different shades of fuzzy.

2 The Crypto-Sensor

Devinder is the paranormal investigator, but it's safe to say that the other heroes have been roped into the profession by circumstance.

However, it appears that a majority of vampires aren't really doing anything to hide their presence as they can be seen flying around and their Nest doors are glowing big and bright out in the open. Still, a device to make you look the part of a paranormal hunter is a welcome one, and thus you have the Crypto-Sensor.

By raiding the underground of a Cemetery, you have a chance to get your hands on this quirky headgear. Putting it on Outfits you with a variety of accessories that could double for streaming if you wanted to share your supernatural experiences.

It also gives a sense of campiness to the whole experience which is enjoyable.

1 Rubber Side Down

Redfall was not marketed as a post-apocalyptic game but all the signs are there: Cut off from the world, dwindling resources, almost every being you encounter is hostile, and you're trying to survive.

Unfortunately, this hasn't spilled onto the Survivors as much as it has the Cultists who look like they wandered in from the Fallout universe. To fix this slightly, you can nab yourself a sweet motorcycle helmet.
