It might not be too long since Deadpool joined the team, but Marvel's Midnight Suns has announced that Venom will be launching next week on February 23. Firaxis announced Venom's upcoming introduction in a spiffy new gameplay trailer which showed off a few off his moves to give you a general idea as to how you can use him on the battlefield, as well as some general story beats to get you nice and intrigued

In the trailer, we see Venom using his symbiotic powers to grab an enemy from a distance and also use an ability called Web Toss to throw a different enemy into an environmental hazard. Venom will also bring with him a new Abbey upgrade called the Whipser Web, which we briefly see to be some kind of surveillance set up. We even get to see a few sections that reveal the much less threatening Eddie Brock talking to other characters like Spider-Man.

If you haven't been keeping track, Venom is the second DLC character to be added to Midnight Suns, the first being Deadpool who was added a little over three weeks ago. He won't be the last either, as the next character joining the team will be Morbius closely followed by Storm. Firaxis hasn't announced release dates for these characters just yet, although they probably won't be too far out if the time gap between Deadpool and Venom is anything to go by.

In other Midnight Suns-related news, it turns out that The Midnight Suns were originally going to have a whole lot more team members to kick things off. Game designer Jake Solomon recently revealed that Firaxis initially planned for the game to include 25 heroes instead of the 14 the base game actually has. The number of heroes had to be drastically scaled back to the sheer workload creating 25 heroes would have caused, but it's fun to imagine which other heroes the game might have had should it have stuck to the original plan.
