While the Polish publisher agreed to continue hosting tournaments and release three new expansions in April, July, and September, the plan was to transition Gwent "into the hands of the community" by 2024.

From console exclusives to incredible indie titles, there is truly something for everyone. Among these are a selection of games that are entirely free to play. <![CDATA[Games That Would Be Great With An In-Game TCG]]> An in-game TCG is essentially a card-based mini-game. For example, in The Witcher 3, you can explore the world, as well as sit down and play some Gwent. This leaves us wondering; should other games have an in-game TCG? If you, somehow, have this same thought, you are in luck.

<![CDATA[The Witcher 3's Gwent Is Fun Because Of The Adventure]]> I’ve tried to play standalone Gwent games, and it never clicked. I normally love it so much that it’s all I ever do in The Witcher 3, but strip it away from Geralt and his adventures to find Ciri, and Gwent suddenly isn’t as enjoyable, especially given that it’s trying to wedge itself into the same market as the vastly superior Hearthstone, Marvel Snap, and Magic: The Gathering Arena. But going back to The Witcher 3 with its current-gen update, I finally get why Gwent doesn’t work on its own - half the fun is adventuring to find each card.

Like The Witcher 3, Horizon Forbidden West, and Knights of the Old Republic before it, Cult of the Lamb has a distractingly good game within the game. This time around, it’s called Knucklebones, and I am determined to be the very best like no one ever was.

It isn't a short experience and was developed to allow for subsequent replays. But if you've had your fill of Rogue Mage for the moment and wish to experience something similar, there are thankfully an array of games to sift through.

This expansion launched rather unexpectedly on July 7, 2022, in the form of Gwent Rogue Mage. Just like the card game it's based on, Rogue Mage brings forth The Witcher characters, integrating their abilities into the cards you play. You begin the game with the Bulwark deck, unlocking different decks as you progress through each map.

Like all roguelikes, there is a heavy amount of random chance that ensures you'll never get the ideal deck loadout you're hoping for. The only way to rework your deck is during specific moments that allow you to remove or add a card.

Gwent: Rogue Mage is a standalone roguelike deck builder that was announced on Wednesday and released on Thursday. I’m not against a surprise shadow drop when it’s part of a Nintendo Direct or some other event - we all like those “and you can play it right now!” moments - but this one is just weird. <![CDATA[ Best Free-To-Play Games Without Microtransactions]]>

Paying to win or constant microtransactions in games these days can be annoying. Things like limited-time items, skins, and other extras can, of course, enhance a player's experience, but it sure does add up. Kids today are growing up surrounded by games that literally shove the need to purchase in your face. Roblox and Fortnite are great examples of that.Related:Every Major Gaming Subscription Service And What They CostVeteran gamers, however, who refuse to spend money on the extras find themselves at a disadvantage, which has recently been seen with Pokemon Unite. What is comforting to know is that there are still a ton of games out there you can enjoy without microtransaction and for free. Yes, some may create VIP memberships and skins you can purchase, but that really doesn't affect your ability to get the most out of a title.

This isn't anything new for CD Projekt Red, as The Witcher 3's "Blood And Wine" DLC lasted longer than many full games on the market, clocking in at around 40 playtime hours for completionists, and 15 and a half hours for those rushing through the story.
