Across The Spider-Verse hits cinemas next month and in preparation for the sequel's release, Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2099 skins have been added to Fortnite. Both naturally come with a few cosmetics too, including an emote that technically means Spider-Ham has also made their Fortnite debut via today's v24.40 update.

Shared by Shiina, the latest Fortnite cosmetics include the Put 'Er There emote. When used, Spider-Ham pops out of a rift and throws Miles a hammer. Since it's only an emote and not a way to add to your inventory, the hammer promptly disappears once the emote has finished. What I don't know at the time of typing this is whether the emote can be used regardless of the skin you have applied.

There are some items that can only be equipped when playing as a certain character, and there's a chance Miles is the only one who can trigger Spider-Ham's appearance. I hope not as the idea of Kratos or The Mandalorian being handed a mallet by an animated superhero pig is an image I'd like extended beyond my imagination.

It's somewhat interesting that Spider-Ham appears to pop out of a rift as one Fortnite fan points out this is the first time someone from outside The Loop has managed to find their own way in. Rather than use that discovery to free everyone currently trapped inside, Spider-Ham hands Miles a hammer and leaves him to it. That's right, if you didn't already know, everyone in Fortnite is technically trapped there forever and forced to battle each other over and over again. Yeah, best not to think about it too much, it's pretty dark.

On a lighter note, those trapped in the eternal loop that is Fortnite can now swing around it again using Spider-Man's web shooters. Miles Morales' version of the mythic item has been added to the game marking the first time it's been available for over a year. Today's update also introduces a ranked mode. Hard to believe Fortnite has gone this long without a ranked mode for its players to compete in. Trios appears to have made way for the new mode, a decision those of you who primarily play in threes aren't very happy about.

Th arrival of Miles, Spider-Man 2099, and Spider-Ham in Fortnite kicks off a few exciting months for Spider-Man fans. Across The Spider-Verse release next month, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is on track to launch this fall. A game we will hopefully learn more about at the rumored PlayStation Showcase coming up.
